Cavan Summer Soltice Festival

Festival play
17th 18th and 19th June in The Imperial Loft A comedy called “Mysterious Ways”
Performed by Local actor Philip Doherty. It has won the RTE PJ. O’Connor Award.
Directed by Kevin O’Conner, Sound and Live Music by Robbie Perry.

Thursday 18th June The Lions Club Proms (Cavan Singers) in the Raddison Farnham Estate.
A feast for the senses in a wonderful venue.
Blue Valentines presents Coffee and Cigarettes at Chapter 1 Cafe on Thur 18th June at 8pm. Adm FREE. This is s film by Jim Jarmusch, it is a comic series of short films where the characters discuss such diverse things as caffeine popsicles, Paris in the 20'sand the use of nicotine as an insecticide while sitting around drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. Jim Jarmusch observes just how absorbing the obsessions, joys and addiction of life can be. The huge array of characters are played by a strange mix of actors/musicians from the more surreal side of life like Tom Waits, Iggy Pop, Steve Buscemi, Meg & Jack White, Steve Coogan,Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett and many more. Cafe Sessions would be a very appropriate place to watch such a film and feed your coffee addiction. Cafe open from 6pm to 9.30pm.

Get your sambo’s and lemonade ready from a lovely afternoon.
Solstice Fancy Dress Day running throughout the town. For all ages
Have a good laugh and there will be Prizes for the best dressed.

Blue Valentines – Tom Waites Tribute,
in the Town Hall Theatre
Also as part of the 100 year Town Hall Celebrations,
Starting at 8pm. This uplifting show is a must see and is a fabulous finale to the festival.
